The work programme followed in the project is shown in the following diagram:

The programme involved:

1. Definition of performance and model requirements.
2. Fire trials involving suppression and detection systems to generate data for the models.
3. Development of models.
4. Sensor research study by Cerberus Guinard.
5. Validation of the models by installing the water mist suppression system and the detection system into an A340 cargo compartment and carrying out fire trials.
